The Design Panel: Adding and Arranging Tables
The plus button on the floor opens Design the floor. Add tables, bars, rooms and areas, then tap anything to name, resize, color or remove it.
Open the design panel
- Open Floor.
- Press the round plus button on the floor's bar, labeled Design the floor.
- The panel opens with the tabs Add, Color, Room, Sections and Plans.
Owners and managers always see the plus. Staff see it when Change the floor plan is set to Staff and managers in Settings, under Permissions.
Close the panel with the plus, the close button, the Escape key or a click outside it.
Add to the floor
- On the Add tab, tap a tile or drag it onto the floor.
- Tables come as rounds for 2 to 8, two-tops, four-tops, long tables, booths and a high top.
- Bar and service pieces include a bar and a counter with 5 stools each, a banquette, a host stand, a station and a buffet.
- Room pieces include a door, stairs, an elevator, a column, a plant and a sofa. Event pieces are a dance floor and a stage.
- Areas include a dining room, bar, counter, patio, private room, event space and lounge.
Tables are numbered T1, T2 and on. Tables on a patio are numbered P1, P2 and on.
A table or area you add opens in the editor right away so you can name it.
Change a table, area or piece
- With the panel open, tap the table, area or piece on the floor.
- For a table, set its name, seats from 1 to 16, its shape and its area.
- For an area, set its name, its kind, and whether it is drawn with walls, glass or open.
- Drag anything to move it. Pull an area's corner to resize it.
- Press Remove to take it off the floor. A table with guests at it cannot be removed.
Room size and undo
On the Room tab, use Width and Depth to size the room, or pull the right or bottom wall on the floor.
The walls cannot move past what is in the room.
Every change reaches each open Workstation, and you can undo it from the HostyFlow panel.

Sections and Who Is Serving Them
Group tables into sections and choose who serves each section today. The server's name shows on the table card.
